Extract and polyphenol extraction method. Pat.237183

The new method of ethanol-free polyphenol extraction enables the easy and cheap production of a polyphenol-rich extract (especially anthocyanin-rich extract) from berries such as chokeberry, bilberry, blueberry, elderberry, strawberry, blackcurrant, etc.

Compared to the traditional method of anthocyanin extraction with ethanol, this method provides a comparable or higher yield, as well as higher quality of the extract in terms of anthocyanin content and their stability.

The subject of the patent application is a pharmaceutical composition, developed in our own laboratories, based on Fenactive® – blend of chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa) and elderberry (Sambucus nigra) fruit extracts and its antiviral effect.
