Development of Diabetes Support Products Based on Natural Extracts Rich in Polyphenolic Compounds

Project Implementation Period: 2019–2023

The primary goal of the project is to introduce products to the market based on a mixture of natural extracts rich in polyphenolic compounds, including chokeberry, black elderberry, and other polyphenol-rich plants. The main mechanism of action of the mixture, demonstrated through preclinical and clinical studies, will be to support and enhance the efficacy of metformin treatment, as well as to minimize the side effects associated with metformin use.

An additional aspect will be the support of treatment for patients with prediabetes by regulating blood sugar levels and improving insulin sensitivity. Furthermore, the impact of the mixture on markers related to lipid metabolism will also be investigated.

 

The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme. The project is implemented as part of the National Centre for Research and Development's "Fast Track" competition. Beneficiary: AronPharma Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością.
